Question: What about snack?
Answer: Your student is encouraged to bring a small, healthy snack to school every day. We will make time to eat them between breakfast and lunch so that we stay energized, full, and awake. I would also suggest that they bring a water bottle every day to stay hydrated. The water fountain is far from my classroom and with this heat it is so important to drink more than a few sips! Question: What is the grading policy? Answer: For reading, writing, and math - 60% is made up of class work, 30% is made up of assessments, and 10% is made up of homework. For science and social studies, 70% is made up of class work, and 30% is made up of assessments. * No single grade will count for more than 30% of the total average. * No two grades will count for more than 50% of the total average. Question: How can my student make up work? Answer: Students will be provided a minimum of 2 days to complete any make-up work from absences for full credit. Question: Can my student redo an assignment for a higher grade? Answer: For any failing grade below 70, your student will have a reasonable and fair opportunity to be retaught and redo the assignment to further develop their understanding of the content, earning a grade up to a 70. Question: How do I view my student's grades? Answer: Log into the Home Access Center (HAC). |
